I hope you enjoy them.<\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<p><em><strong>My Millie<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n(80&#215;100&#8243;) February 2021<\/p>\n<p>A year-long block of the month led by Katja Marek (Kamloops, BC). The top was completed by the end of 2015 and then sat, unquilted until 2021.\u00a0 It is hand-pieced and machine quilted and, despite the picture, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">is<\/span> rectangular! It is made with fusible appliqu\u00e9, and confetti appliqu\u00e9 (from the work of Ruth Bloomfield in Queensland, Australia), with lots of stitching on top.<\/p>\n<p align=\"right\">Private collection.<br \/>\nMachine pieced, appliqu\u00e9d and quilted.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><i><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.singingquilter.com\/snowflake.jpg\" width=\"336\" height=\"389\" border=\"0\" \/>Snowflake<br \/>\n<\/b>June 2016<\/i><\/p>\n<p>I started piecing this in August 2011. Original design, using approximately 1500 1\/2&#8242; hexagons.\u00a0 My design was based on a photograph taken by Wilson A. Bentley, who is the first to take microscopic pictures of snowflakes and discovered that no two are alike.<\/p>\n<p>The top was completed by November 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Miller &#8220;Fairy Frost&#8221; fabric and Cherrywood hand dyes.\u00a0 Swarovski crystals. This is a wedding present for my nephew and his wife &#8211; and they got it BEFORE their first anniversary!<\/p>\n<p align=\"right\">I pieced the background water and hills using Caryl Bryer Fallert-Gentry&#8217;s <i>applipiecing<\/i>technique.\u00a0 Everything above and behind the tree was quilted before I added the tree.\u00a0 The arbutus tree was fused onto another piece of fabric then zig-zagged onto the background. Around the outside border are dog prints.
